How do I create a Patent Type?

The Patents App allows you to organize patents your company owns, link patents directly to upcoming ideas, and organize activities surrounding the task of acquiring and maintaining your patent.

Steps to Create New Patent Type

1. Log in and access Patents App from your universal navigation menu bar.
2. Click on “Settings” icon located in the app header bar.
   
3. Click on “Patent -> Patent Type” from left navigation panel.
4. Click on “Create” button in patent type dashboard.
   
5. You can view “Create Patent Type” popup and specify:
• Name - Name of the patent type
• Description - Description of the patent type
  
6. Click on “Create” button to complete.
