How do I Create Custom Views in the Projects App?

In general, Views are nothing but act like filtering options, used for showing particular information based on certain criteria, accordingly.

There are some default views provided in the Projects App found in the left navigation panel. They are:

  • By Queue
  • By Status
  • By Priority
  • By Billing Method
  • By Tag

Besides these default views, you can also create your own custom views according to your business requirements.

Steps to Create Custom View

  • Login and access the Projects App from the Universal Menu.
  • Click on the More(...) icon and select the settings.

  • In the Settings, click on the Customize App and select the Views.

  • In the Views page, click on the create button or click on the + icon near the Views to create a new view.

  • In the Create view, add the Title and the Description.

  • You can set the privileges access by selecting the Privilege Dropdown.
  • Select the required list from the List Layout Dropdown.

  • With the Display Toggle, you can make the custom view enable/ disable.

  • In the Criteria section, select the attribute in the insert attribute dropdown and set the criteria with the operators and the values of the related attributes.
  • Here, the custom view based on the Project End date in the Current Month.

  • After setting the criteria, click on the create button.

  • Custom View will get created and will be displayed on the list.

  • Now, go to the Projects home page, you can view the created custom view on the left panel.

HOW TO DELETE CUSTOM VIEWS IN PROJECTS APP?

  • To delete the view, click on More→ Settings from the App Header Bar.
  • The User will be directed to the Settings Page. Click on “Customize App → Views” from the Left Navigation Panel.
  • One can see the list of custom views along with the delete icon on the action column.
  • The user can click on the “Delete” icon to delete the custom view which is no longer needed.projects
  • Upon successful deletion, a confirmation alert will be displayed.

Note:

  • If the custom view is deleted, it will be removed for all the users.
  • If the view is associated with the Scheduled report or default view or both, the user needs to remove the association in order to proceed with the deletion of that corresponding view.
