If you use a @yahoo.com email in the “from” address of all your outgoing emails from Apptivo, then your emails may not have been delivered.

On April 4th, Yahoo made some changes to their authentication policy regarding people sending from @yahoo.com email addresses.

This change was put in place to protect Yahoo users from sending from other mail servers. This will help secure Yahoo identities from being used by unauthorized senders.

Example being, you send an email through an email service provider such as Apptivo, and you use your @yahoo.com address in the “from” address. This will be rejected and bounce back due to its check against Yahoo’s new authentication policy.

How to ensure your email gets delivered

Apptivo recommends you stay clear of using a @yahoo.com address as the “from” address. You have two options:

  1. You can setup a new team, giving you the option of selecting who the “from” address is. https://answers.apptivo.com/questions/10823/how-do-i-create-a-team
  2. You can change your login email address, which will therefore automatically change your “from” address. https://answers.apptivo.com/questions/10546/how-can-i-change-email-address-used-to-log-in

If you need to use a free webmail domain, we would suggest with going with Gmail, and avoid Yahoo all together.
