Why is close date mandatory while creating an opportunity in CRM?

In most cases, a deal takes time to close. So, it’s highly recommended to add a projected close date while creating an opportunity. This way, your opportunity will get projected during the appropriate period, when you view your pipeline.

For example,

I. You have an opportunity called "Andrew Groups" for $15000. You expect this to take 8 days to close. So, if today is February 04, 2022, you can specify February 12, 2022, as the close date.

Opportunities App

If you view the Feb’22 tab of the pipeline, you will see that this opportunity is added to that period.

II. You have an opportunity called “ZYL Groups” for $10,000. You expect this to take 2 months to close. So, if today is February 04, 2022, you can specify April 04, 2022, as the close date.

Opportunities App

If you view the Apr’22 tab of the pipeline, you will see that this opportunity is added to that period.
