How to Enable Email Notification for Notes Creation?

This setting allows to enable the email notification whenever a Note is created or updated in the system. Before enabling note notification, you need to create appropriate email templates that will be automatically sent by the system each time a note is created.

The below image displays the email template for the note creation. Have a quick look.

Email Template Attributes:

  • Template - Name of the email template
  • Subject - Subject of the email, you are also allowed to insert attributes from the object, here "{[Case].[Case Information].[Case #]} Has Been Updated", it drives the value of the "Case#" from case details.
  • Email Content - This a free handed editor, here the email content includes case attributes and "{{note_text}}" to insert note description. (Note: This attribute must be added manually).

Steps to Enable Email Notification

  1. Log in and access Cases App from your universal navigation menu bar.
  2. Click on “More” icon and select “Settings” from the app header bar.

  3. Click on "General -> Email Notifications" from the left navigation panel.
  4. Click on "Note Created" and enable the toggle "Enable Email Notifications" at the right side.
  5. Once enabled the toggle click on "Create" blue button.
  6. Enter the notification name, description and select the suitable template for Customer, Assignee, and Other.

  7. Now, create a note and share to the customer.

  8. Customer will receive an automated notification as shown in the image below:
