How do I Customize an Invoice PDF Template to Show Existing Balance?

You can customize an invoice template to present billing information to your customer based on your company requirements. You may set up your invoice template with account balance information.

Steps to Add Existing Balance Field in Invoice PDF Template

  1. Log in and access Invoices App from universal navigation menu bar.
  2. Navigate to More(...) -> Settings -> Customize App -> Print/Web Layouts.
  3. You can modify the existing PDF template using "Action" view-template icon or you can create the new one.
  4. Click on "Invoice Attribute" tab under "Palette" section.
  5. Select "Summary Section" drop down and you can view the invoice attributes.
  6. Just drag and drop the "Existing Balance" button into your PDF template.
  7. Now you able to view the "Existing Balance" field in your invoice template.
  8. Click on "Preview" to view the way your invoice template looks.

For Instance, if a customer had one previous invoice with an outstanding balance of $50, and generates a new invoice, "Existing Balance" field would show $50 when displayed on the new invoice.
