How to set the Item Quantity in decimal value in Apptivo?

Supply chain management is one of the key areas of any organization. Having seamless control over different applications assures efficiency and clear-cut information. You can add the Item quantity in decimal value and retain the same value while moving to any other application in Supply chain management.

For Instance: Consider creating goods receipt for a carpet which is 10.5 meters long in Receiving App. A customer places an order for this carpet and the order is shipped.

Step 1: Configuration in Receiving App

  • Go to Settings → Customize App → Master Layout in the Receiving App.

  • Navigate to the Now Receiving section in the Master Layout. Click on it to view its Inspector tab.

  • Here, in the Digits section, you can set the scale value for decimal. It is set as 2. 
  • Now, create a new receipt in the Receiving App for the Carpet. Here, you can see the configured attribute has the ability to allow the quantity in decimals.

Step 2: Configuration in Orders App

Now, a customer places an order for the Carpet. In this case, the customer can place the item quantity in decimal value.
  • Go to Settings → Customize App → Master Layout in the Orders App.

  • Navigate to the Quantity section in the Master Layout. Click on it to view its Inspector tab.

  • Here, in the Digits section, you can set the scale value for decimal. It is set as 2.
  • Along with this, you also have to set the scale value as 2 for Available Quantity, Back Order Quantity and Shipped Quantity attribute in the Master Layout.

  • Now, create a new Order in the Orders App for the Carpet. You can see the configured attributes allow the quantity in decimals. 

Orders

  • Select Create to create a new Order. Once the order is placed, it will be shipped using Shipping App.

Step 3: Configuration in Shipping App

  • Go to Settings → Customize App → Master Layout in the Shipping App.

  • Navigate to the Order Quantity section in the Master Layout. Click on it to view its Inspector tab.
Digits

  • Here, in the Digits section, you can set the scale value for decimal. It is set as 2. 
  • Along with this, you also have to set the scale value as 2 for the Ship Qty, Remaining Qty, and Already Shipped Qty attribute in the Master Layout.

  • Now, navigate to the pick released order in the Shipping App for the Carpet. You can see how the Order Quantity and Ship Qty attributes allow the quantity value in decimals.

Note: Along with this, you can also set the decimal value for other attributes that are employed in calculating the total quantity and total Back Ordered quantity to get accurate results.
