How to create a custom view for Table attributes?

Customizing how records are filtered and viewed is one of the key requirements of customers in any software. Apptivo has a dedicated section called My Views where all the customer configured views are available. You can also create a custom view for attributes present in the table.

Consider creating a custom view for table attribute in the Contacts App.

Step 1: Custom Table in Master Layout

A custom table in the Contacts App can be created from the Master Layout. Here, you can drag and drop the attributes.

  • Navigate to Settings → Customize App → Master Layout. In the Master Layout, drag and drop the table section.

  • Click on the table name to rename it. Also, you can drag and drop the required attributes in the table section.

  • Here, you can see text attribute and date attribute is added to the Master Layout. Once configured, select save.

Step 2: Configuring Custom View for Custom Table Attributes

  • Go to Settings → Customize App → Views. In the Views pane, select Create to create a new custom view.

  • You can add a Title and Description for the view in the Create View side panel. Along with this, set the privileges for the Custom View.

Note: The Privileges are set for the Employees from the Employees App. Based on the assigned privileges, Employees will have access.

  • Now, select the List Layout which has to appear while displaying the custom view. Here, you can see the Overview is selected.
  • To make the View available in the left pane, make sure Display toggle is enabled.
  • In the Criteria section, you have the ability to set criteria for the custom table attributes.

  • Here, you can see the Business Value attribute of the custom table is added as a criterion. You can also make use of the Add Condition feature to add more than one attribute.

  • Lastly, you can decide what actions have to be made available while performing Bulk Actions. By default, it is enabled for Print PDF, Download PDF’s, send, Archive, and Export.

  • Select Create to create a new Custom View. A new view is created.

  • Navigate to the Home page of the Contacts app. The created view is available in the left pane. Click on it to view the records which match the criteria in the right pane.
