If you are running a business, then you will come across people from different spheres. They are specialized in different fields. You can make use of the Contacts App of Apptivo to maintain a directory of all the Contacts. Also, Apptivo has a dedicated section listing out the various Industries available in the business. However, there might be circumstances where you want to be more specific or create a sub-industry type for the main industry. You can create that without any trouble using Apptivo.

For Instance: Consider a Software company has entered into a contract with your business to provide its Software and Customer Service. So, there are two divisions within the software Industry. The Software company has enormous employees. You want to speak with the Customer Service team regarding a customer query. It is not time efficient if you reach out Software Engineers instead of Customer Service Team. To avoid this, you can create sub-industry types and get the contacts grouped according to the divisions.

Steps to Create Industries

  • Log in and access the Contacts App from your Universal navigation menu bar. Click on the More icon and select Settings at the app header bar.
Settings

  • Select the Contacts dropdown. Click on the Industries from the left navigation panel. Since you want to create subdivisions within the Computer Software Industry Type, click on the (+) icon.
Create

  • Click on the Create button. You will be redirected to the Create Industry popup. Here, give a name and description of the Industry type.
Create Type

  • Click on the Create Industry button to complete. You can see a new Industry type is added to the list.

  • Similarly, a new industry type is created for Customer Service.
  • This Sub Industry type will be listed while adding the Industry for a Contact in the Contacts Profile.
