How do I create Categories in Tasks Activity?

Tasks find application in various fields of business. Tasks can be created when you have to reach out to a customer, lead, contact, or opportunity. Tasks are also mostly used with Projects. In such a case, it is important to segregate among different tasks. This can be achieved with the categories feature of Apptivo.

Jay is a Project Manager and he deals with both internal and external projects. It involves numerous tasks. In such cases, it becomes difficult for him to differentiate between both types of projects. So, he makes use of Tasks Activity to create categories and easily groups the tasks.

Steps to Create Category

  • Log in and access the Tasks Activity from your universal navigation menu bar. Click on the Settings icon located at the App header bar.

  • Click on Categories from General drop down the left navigation panel. In the Categories page, select Create to create a new category.

  • In the Create Category popup, add a name and description for the category. Once the details are added, select Create.

  • A new category is created.

  • Now, create a task in the Tasks Activity.

  • In the Additional Information section, you can add the Category from Category dropdown. Select Create once the information is added.

  • A new task is created with the selected category.
