How do I create a task in a Project with Project Information?

The Mapping feature of Apptivo enables users to map the fields present in a project with the tasks created in them. By this, the fields shown while creating tasks will automatically display the values of the mapped fields in the associated project.

Note: This feature is available in the Ultimate and Enterprise plans of Apptivo.

Steps to map the attributes of Projects with Tasks

  • Log into your Apptivo account and navigate to the Projects App. Select Settings from the App Header.

  • In the Settings page, go to Collaboration. Here, scroll down to Tasks.

  • Enable Map and set your own pre-defined values while creating Tasks toggle. Now, select Mapping.
Enabled Toggle

  • You will be redirected to Projects→ Tasks Mapping Fields. Here, map the required fields. The Name, Description, and Due Date fields of Tasks are mapped with Name, Description, and End Date of projects.

  • Save the changes. Create a new project or open an existing project in the Projects App.

  • Go to the Tasks tab and select Create.
  • The Create Task window will have the values mapped in the configured fields. For instance, the Name of the task will be the project’s name as per the mapping. This also applies to other mapped fields.
