The Customer Uniqueness Check feature of the Customers App in Apptivo allows you to prevent the creation of duplicate records in your account. You can also configure how this verification has to be carried out when a new record is created.
Steps to check customer uniqueness
- Log into your Apptivo account and navigate to the Customers App. Here, select Settings from the App header.
- In the Settings page, go to Customers → Numbering from the left navigation panel. Scroll down to the Customer Uniqueness Check on the Numbering page. Here, you can configure to perform three types of uniqueness checks.
- Customer Number - When this option is selected, you cannot create a customer profile with the same customer number.
- Customer Name - On selecting this option, you cannot create a customer record with the same customer name.
- Customer Number & Customer Name Combination - Here, you cannot create a customer record when the customer number and the customer name already exists.
- For instance: Customer Name is selected. Now, consider a customer record with the name Aliston is already available.
- When you try creating another record with the same name, you will receive an error message and you cannot create a new record.
