How do I configure Ref App and Ref App Field in the Contracts app?

The Contracts app of Apptivo allows you to associate with other apps by providing the attributes Ref app and Ref app fields. By using these features, you can associate with any other apps in apptivo as per your business requirements. These attributes are available in the master layout of apptivo applications. Let’s follow the steps to add the ref app and its fields in the contracts app.
Steps to configure Ref app and Ref app fields:
- Log in and access the Contracts app from the universal navigation menu.
- Click on the More(...) icon and select Settings.
- On the settings page, go to Customize App → Master Layout.
- Drag and drop the Ref App attribute which is under the Palette tab.
- Click on the field to view the Inspector tab. Here, you can change the name. On scrolling down the Reference Object Details, you can choose the application from the App field.
- For instance, let’s consider the “Contacts” app as Reference App.
- Drag and drop the Ref App Field attribute from the Palette tab.
- In the Inspector tab of the Ref App field, scroll down to the Reference Field Details. In the Reference object dropdown, you can see the list of standard Reference Apps added in your Master Layout in addition to the custom Ref Apps added by you.
- Here, you can see the “Contact field” is marked as Reference App in the Inspector tab.
- To populate one field from your Contacts App, select the Reference Field dropdown. The attributes available in the Contacts app will be listed.
- Select an attribute, for instance, let’s consider attribute Contact’s First Name and Save the changes.
- Now create a contract or update an existing one. Let’s consider, adding a contact to the existing contract.
- Once a contact is added, the value in the Ref App field will be populated automatically from the Contact’s profile as shown below.
