How to set up the default value for the date attribute in the Contracts App?

Set the default date for your contract records. It might be a handful for you to type the date whenever you create a record. You could change this by enabling the default date value which takes less time to enable the feature. Access the feature and save your time. Follow the steps to set up the default date.

Steps to add Default Date:

  • Log in and access the Contracts App from the universal navigation menu bar.
  • Click on the More(...) icon and select Settings from the app header.

  • On the settings page, go to Customize App → Master Layout.
  • In the Master Layout, drag and drop the Date attribute from the Palette tab in the right panel.

  • Click on the Date attribute to view the Inspector tab. Here, you can change the name. Scroll down to the Default Behavior section.

  • Enable the toggle for Default Value and select the type as Dynamic.
  • On choosing Dynamic, click on the Custom Date button.

  • The Function Editor window appears. As the current date is to be displayed, click on Today to display the current date of a record. Select Create.

  • Save the changes in Master Layout.

  • When a new contract is created in the Contracts App, the current date of the record will be pulled automatically.
