How to configure number generation in Receiving App?

Organizations generate receipts for the orders gathered from the Warehouse. Receiving App in Apptivo assists the organization in generating these receipts. To maintain a sequence, Receiving App enables you to generate numbers for the Receipts. Additionally, you can also generate code numbers for the warehouse.

Transaction Number Generation

Receiving App allows you to auto-generate number for each transaction. You need not add each receipt number manually. You can make use of the number generation feature to achieve it. Apart from the generation of numbers, you can also add a prefix for them.

• Go to Settings → App Behaviour → Number Generation → Transaction Number Generation.

• Here, you can set the transaction numbers for the receipts. In the Prefix section, you can configure it to have a static text or the receiving year.

Static Text: You can add a predefined text to the receipts.

Receiving Year: The receipts are generated based on the year of creation of a receipt. Since the current year is 2020, the receiving year will change to 2020 automatically.

For Instance: Set the prefix as a static text - SIY and starts with as 100.

• Create a new record in the Receiving App. Since the Auto Generate feature is enabled, the Transaction # is marked as Auto-generated number.

• Once the record is created, you can see the Transaction number is generated according to the configuration.

• Now, create another record in the Receiving App. The transaction number will change based on the configured sequence.

Warehouse Code Generation

• Go to Settings → App Behaviour → Number Generation → Warehouse Code Generation.

• Here, you can set the warehouse code for the receipts. In the Prefix section, you can configure it to have a static text or the receiving year.

Year of Receiving Date: The codes are generated based on the year of creation of warehouse records in Apptivo. Since the current year is 2020, the receiving year will change to 2020 automatically.

For Instance: Set the prefix as the receiving year and starts with as 20.

Create a new warehouse in the Receiving App. Since the Auto Generate feature is enabled, the code # is marked as an Auto-generated number. Once the record is created, you can see the code number is generated according to the configuration. Now, create another warehouse in the Receiving App. The code number will change based on the configured sequence.
