How to insert the horizontal line in the Estimate PDF Template?

Estimates App of Apptivo provides you the ability to design the estimate PDF templates, and send that estimates to your clients. The print/web layout of apptivo is provided with different options where you can customize the templates. The line attributes help you to divide the sections within your pdf, you can also change the color, style, and width of the lines.

For instance, let’s consider creating a template with terms and conditions as a special section at the end of the template.

Steps to Customize the line attributes:

  • Log in and access the Estimates app from the universal navigation menu bar.
  • Click on the More(...) icon and select Settings.

  • On the Settings page, go to Customize App → Print/Web Layouts.
  • Click on the Create button.
  • You can create a PDF template in three ways:
    • Start with a blank layout
    • Start with the default layout
    • Copy from another layout
  • Here, select Start with the default layout from the dropdown.

  • On the Create Template popup, give the Name of the template and click Next.

  • The Line section is helpful for the skim readers where they can read the section they need.
  • We can divide the sections by using line sections.
  • Drag and drop the Line section which is under the Palette tab.

  • Now drag and drop the One column section from the palette tab to add the terms and conditions section. Here, I would like to add the terms and conditions at the end of the template.

  • By clicking on the one-column section, you’ll be redirected to the Inspector tab where you can provide the name for the section.

  • Here, let’s consider dividing the terms and conditions section by using Line attributes.
  • Now scroll down drag, and drop the Line attribute into one column section as shown below.

  • By clicking on the line attribute, you will be redirected to the Inspector tab.
  • By using the Inspector tab, you can change the width, color, and style of the line as shown below.
  • Let's consider changing the line style to Solid. You can also change the color of the line.

  • To provide the text for the Terms and Conditions, drag and drop the Free Text attribute from the Palette.

  • By clicking on the free text attribute, you’ll be redirected to the Inspector tab, you can add the text for the terms and conditions on the text area as shown below.

  • You can change the font style, color, background, and size.

  • Now click on the Save button to save the changes.

  • Now go back to the dashboard template and select the layout that you’ve created in the Default drop-down button under the PDF templates section.

  • Now go to the Estimates home page and select any Estimate.
  • Let’s consider estimate# 65, click on the More Details(...).

  • Click on the Print PDF button.

  • Now the pdf will be downloaded with line attributes that we’ve added as shown below.
