What is the change?

Apptivo will begin disabling the older SSL 3, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1. encryption to prevent it from being used to access the Apptivo platform on April 2016. The disablement of SSL 3, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 will prevent it from being used to access the Apptivo service within inbound and outbound connections.

Any channels connecting to Apptivo will need to use TLS 1.2 encryption. TLS ensures that a connection to a remote endpoint is to the intended destination through encryption and endpoint identity verification.

Apptivo web and API connections, along with email delivery, use TLS as a key component of their security. HTTPS (web) and STARTTLS SMTP (email) use TLS as a key component of their security.

This change will also impacts your user access to a number of Apptivo services, including: access to websites, such as Apptivo Communities, Customer and Partner portals, and api sites.

Why is this happening?

The disablement of SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 is being undertaken in order to maintain the highest security standards and promote the safety of your data as well as align with industry-wide best practices.

When will Apptivo disable SSL 3.0 encryption?

The general timeframes for disabling the use of SSL 3, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 to and from Apptivo are as follows:

April 30, 2016 – Stop supporting SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on www.apptivo.com
August 20, 2016 – Stop supporting SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 on api.apptivo.com
